Stickney Illinois has a poluation of 6,148, according to the 2000 census. It's a small town with many great features. Stickney's location is 1/2 mile north of I55 (Stevenson Expressway) and 3 miles south of I290 (Eisenhower Expressway). It borders Berwyn on the north, Forestview on the south, Lyons on the west and Cicero on the east.
There are a mixture of home styles, from brick ranches and Georgians, to frame and brick Bungalows. The average price range in Stickney is around $200,000.
There are a few things that I enjoy about Stickney. I enjoy the nice big park area on Ridgeland which also houses a nice Veterans Memorial, baseball fields and even a fenced in skateboard area. Jewel Osco is located right at 39th and Harlem. But the biggest reason me and my family enjoy Stickney is Alexander's Pancake House. This family has owned and operated the restaurant for years and has grown from a small family restaurant to a large pancake restaurant which offers an outstanding breakfast and lunch menu. If you're ever in the Stickney area make sure you stop by. They're located on 39th street, just one block east of Oak park Ave.
