Here's a small Village with a big future ahead. I actually grew up in Lyons and I loved it. Watching what the Village has gone through all these years and seeing where they're at now makes me feel proud that I'm a part of this Village. Lyons' population is 10,255 according to the 2000 census. It's borders are DesPlaines River on the north, 47th street on the south, Custer ave. on the west and Harlem ave. on the east. Towns that border Lyons are Riverside on the north, McCook on the south, Brookfield on the west and Stickney on the east.
Thru-out Lyons' history I've witnessed Lyons transform itself from a small Village with high crime and night clubs, back in the 70s and early 80s, to a serious village. The night clubs are gone and with it the high crime is also gone. New developments with condominiums, single family homes and commercial stores have caused surrounding towns to take note. Recently the Village started construction on the new municiple building and police department. Lyons also has an outstanding police department, which gets involved with community activities, along with youth and school programs.
Lyons is a great place to live and with Ogden avenue running right through, it's also a great location for any size business.

One of the newest and most recognized developments in Lyons is the Riverwalk. Part of the development includes the Riverwalk Condominiums which has a total of 72 units. The price range starts in the low 200s. My company is handeling the sales, so call me of you're interested in information.
